Code Nation
At Code Nation nonprofit, we collaborated with the Director of Marketing to redevelop a high-performing website that harnesses the power of user-generated content.

We built a brand new website using WordPress and created all custom graphics to refresh Code Nation’s digital presence. Our modern design and intuitive interface effectively captured the brand’s unique identity and improved overall usability. Our solution delivered exceptional user experience.
Next, we optimized Google Analytics to better understand web traffic across all 20 U.S. locations, enabling precise measurement of performance. Our enhanced tracking provided clear insights into visitor behavior. We continuously monitored measurable performance improvements.
In addition, we developed a custom Google Map featuring all locations with detailed descriptions, further boosting local engagement. These combined efforts led to a 32% increase in overall engagement, empowering Code Nation to reach a wider audience.
OVERVIEW
- THE PROBLEM
WEB DEVELOPMENT, GOOGLE ANALYTICS & CONVERSION OPTIMIZATION
Code Nation faced a significant challenge with its outdated website. The site was built by a volunteer using a custom template that made it extremely difficult for internal staff to update and maintain content efficiently.
Additionally, the website lacked proper web tracking; Google Analytics was not installed. This oversight severely limited their ability to understand user behavior, measure performance accurately, and drive data-informed decisions. These issues critically hampered the organization’s digital growth significantly.

Building a Seamless Digital Experience for Code Nation
We first came across Code Nation through a volunteer service, and was drawn to the fact that the organization is dedicated to serving diverse communities in tech. This really stood out to us, because the tech industry has been underrepresented in diverse communities and often ignored by traditional education.
The original description of the volunteer project was for minimal web design issues that could typically be solved with basic knowledge of WordPress and HTML/CSS. However, upon logging in to the Code Nation website, we discovered that the current theme being utilized was created using a proprietary web builder theme. After further investigation it was discovered that the proprietary theme could not longer be updated because of the outdated theme. The volunteer hours of 5 hours a week for 4 weeks was simply not enough time to complete the project. Code Nation hired Vizionality for a web development overhall.
Code Nation programs are made possible by the volunteers, schools, company partners, supporters who give time, money, and resources to create opportunities for our students. The new web design focused on the user experience from more than one perspective. Clear messaging for all targets was a priority along with a stunning visual display that optimized the user experience. This project was not a complete redesign. The same color scheme, font, and images resembles the old website. But once we migrated the website onto a new WordPress theme, a new and refreshed design started to to take place.
SUMMARIZED
Vizionality’s overhaul delivered a modern, user-friendly website that empowers Code Nation’s internal team to easily update content. The custom WordPress design, complete with tailored graphics, not only enhanced the visual appeal and brand consistency but also eliminated the dependency on technical volunteers.
In addition, the integration of Google Analytics provided robust tracking and actionable insights into user behavior. This data-driven approach has enabled Code Nation to optimize its digital strategy, resulting in sustainable growth and increased engagement across their online channels.
