How we recovered 174% more conversions by migrating a luxury jewelry brand to server-side tracking
- Additional conversions recovered via CAPI
- 174%
- Meta Event Match Quality score
- 9.6/10
- Purchase events successfully deduplicated
- 93.1%
The challenge
ITP, ad blockers, and consent prompts were eroding the signal reaching Meta and Google. Reported ROAS bore little resemblance to what the finance team saw in Shopify, so budget decisions were being made on numbers nobody trusted.
What we did
- Audited the full GA4 and GTM implementation to isolate exactly where events were being lost.
- Stood up a server-side GTM container on a first-party subdomain to keep tracking resilient.
- Wired the Meta Conversions API with hashed customer parameters and strict event deduplication.
- Rebuilt purchase, add-to-cart, and checkout events from the Shopify backend rather than the browser.
The outcome
Meta regained a near-complete view of purchase behavior, Event Match Quality climbed to 9.6/10, and platform-reported revenue reconciled to Shopify closely enough that the team could scale spend with confidence.
