About the project

Marin Promise Partnership is a nonprofit collaborative that brings together schools, community organizations, government agencies, and families to close educational equity gaps in Marin County, California. By aligning efforts and sharing data, the partnership works to ensure that every child, regardless of race, ethnicity, zip code, or income, has access to the support and opportunities they need to succeed from cradle to career. Through a collective impact approach, Marin Promise Partnership helps partners coordinate strategies, track progress, and take action to improve outcomes for historically underserved students.

Marin Promise Partnership partnered with Vizionality to redevelop its website with a modern, user-friendly design that better reflects its mission to advance educational equity in Marin County. The new site improves navigation, accessibility, and content management, making it easier for educators, partners, and community members to engage with the organisation's work.

A key feature of the project was the development of custom data pages to showcase impact through case studies and educational equity statistics. These pages present complex information in a clear, visual format, helping stakeholders understand progress and outcomes while reinforcing the Partnership's data-driven, collaborative approach.

WordPress Redesign for Marin Promise Partnership: Elementor, Tableau, and Airtable

Marin Promise Partnership teamed up with Vizionality to redevelop its website with a focus on clarity, scalability, and ease of use. The previous site had become difficult to manage, with over 150 pages of content scattered across an outdated structure that made both navigation and updates challenging. The internal team often relied on technical support for even basic changes, which limited their ability to share timely updates, event information, and program outcomes. The new website was built on WordPress using Elementor, giving non-technical staff the tools to make updates independently while maintaining design consistency across the site.

A major component of the project was the creation of a clean, intuitive sitemap that organised the extensive content library into user-friendly pathways for educators, partners, and community stakeholders. Custom templates were developed to support consistent presentation of case studies, data, and partner stories, making it easier to scale content as the organisation grows. We worked closely with Marin Promise Partnership's Chief Technology Officer and Director of Communications to integrate Tableau charts directly into key pages, allowing for dynamic, visual representation of educational outcomes and equity metrics. We also implemented multilingual support to improve accessibility for the diverse communities the organisation serves.

To support their data-driven mission, we integrated Airtable into the website, allowing real-time updates of key metrics and progress indicators without manual duplication of data. This streamlined the way impact stories and statistics were displayed across the site, improving transparency and reinforcing Marin Promise Partnership's commitment to results-based collaboration.

The challenge

Marin Promise Partnership's previous website was difficult to update and lacked the flexibility needed to support their growing library of over 150 pages of content, including case studies, resources, and program data. The absence of a clear sitemap made navigation confusing for users, while limited backend functionality made it time-consuming for staff to manage updates. The site also had no integration with Airtable, which the team relied on for tracking key metrics, making it challenging to display real-time data anywhere on the site. A new, scalable website was needed to improve usability, streamline content management, and connect seamlessly with Airtable for dynamic, up-to-date reporting.

What we did

  1. Rebuilt the site on WordPress with Elementor, using custom templates and reusable blocks so non-technical staff can publish without a developer.
  2. Designed a clear sitemap that reorganised over 150 pages into pathways that make sense to educators, partners, and community stakeholders.
  3. Integrated Airtable so the metrics the team already tracks render live on the site, with no manual duplication.
  4. Embedded Tableau charts directly into key pages, working with the Partnership's CTO and Director of Communications on how outcomes should read.
  5. Added multilingual support so the site reaches the communities the Partnership serves in their own language.

The outcome

Combined with the refreshed design, language translation, Tableau integration, and backend improvements, the site now serves as a communication tool rather than a maintenance burden. Staff publish their own updates, over 150 pages sit behind a sitemap people can navigate, and the equity metrics the Partnership reports on stay current without anyone re-keying them.
